Deller's wash on the Cam washes after capital works were carried out on the site under the Higher Level Stewardship scheme for breeding waders.
The work included excavating specially profiled wader scrapes together with putting 5 islands in the main scrape.
In the first breeding season after the works were completed the site attracted several pairs of breeding Avocets.

Under the same HLS scheme we created new habitat for waders by reprofiling an existing pond on this wash (Josh Scott) on the Ouse washes
The third wash that received reprofiling of an existing splash was Harrison's on the Ouse washes.
As well as reprofiling the main splash some of the perimeter ditches were also reprofiled to make them both Wader friendly and to prevent grazing cattle from escaping.
